The official portal vs us: what’s different, and what stays the same.
You can buy your sea fishing licence directly from DGRM, or ask us to handle the application. With easyfishinglicense, you apply in English, pay online and receive the official licence by email. You pay the government licence charge plus our €4.90 service fee per order. Here’s what that covers, and when applying directly may suit you better.

The same official DGRM licence
We apply to DGRM on your behalf for a recreational sea fishing licence for mainland Portugal. DGRM issues the licence; we are an independent application service, with no affiliation to DGRM or the Portuguese government.
The licence covers the activity and dates you choose. Buying through us does not change where you may fish, what you may catch or how much you may keep. Read our licence guide if you’re unsure which type you need.
The official route and our service
The official BMar website can feel extremely clunky, especially when you’re using it for the first time. Creating an account, finding the right request and following the payment steps adds work to a simple holiday task. Our service gives you a short form in English, and we handle the official portal for you.

DGRM lists BMar as an option for foreign citizens and Portuguese citizens living abroad. Its Multibanco licence option is for Portuguese citizens with a Portuguese bank card. Foreign visitors can also use DGRM or regional fisheries counters. See the official application options and BMar.
No NIF or Portuguese bank account needed with us
Our form does not ask for a NIF, the Portuguese tax number. You provide each angler’s name and passport or ID details, your contact email and the licence choices for your trip. Enter the details exactly as they appear on the identification document.
You also don’t need a Portuguese bank account to pay us. Checkout uses card payments and supported wallets, so you can arrange the application before travelling. If you prefer the official route, follow BMar’s current registration and bank-transfer instructions.
About three minutes to apply
Choose shore, boat, underwater or all types; select the duration and start date; add the anglers’ details; then review the total and pay. Have your identification handy and the application should take about three minutes. A group order may take longer.
Three minutes refers to completing the application. Your licence is processed afterwards. Our current service allows standard licences to start five calendar days from today, or three days from today with the urgent option. These are our booking limits, not a promise of instant government issuance. The available dates appear in the form.
We email your official licence PDF once it has been issued. An order confirmation or payment receipt is not your fishing licence: wait for issuance and check its validity dates before fishing.
What our service fee covers
Our €4.90 fee covers handling your DGRM application and emailing the issued licence to you. It is charged once per order, rather than once per angler. Our form accepts up to ten anglers in an order, using the same licence type, duration and start date.

Which option suits your trip?
Apply directly if you’re comfortable using BMar or visiting a licence office and want to avoid our service fee. Choose us if you’d prefer an English application, online card payment and someone to handle the official submission for you.
